Market Rasen Gardeners' Fair set to be a blooming success with fun for all ages
Fair on starts June 5
A feast of flora, fauna, food and fun is on offer to visitors at this year's Market Rasen Gardeners' Fair and Open Gardens.
The two day gardening extravaganza, on June 5 and 6, offers the chance to pick up something extra special for your garden.
Take time to visit the numerous stalls spread across the Market Place and in the nearby Festival Hall selling shrubs, trees, flowers, garden furniture, pots and planters, then, after a leisurely lunch at one of the many eateries, visit the range of gardens open to the public.
The event has been running for nine years, attracting thousands of people, and this year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with a full programme of entertainment throughout the weekend, either on the stage in the Market Place or at several vantage points throughout the town.
Market Rasen Town Band will be playing, groups of morris dancers will be performing and there will also be a number of street artists to keep everyone entertained. Full details will be published in the programme available on the day.
This year, there are 12 gardens open to the public from 1pm to 5pm each day. Half the gardens are open for the first time this year, including a cluster of gardens close to the town centre in Lady Frances Drive, Caistor Road, Foxglove Road and The Furlongs.
The gardens will be open from 1pm until 5pm both days and feature everything from the small town house garden to a garden stretching to about 1.5 acres, boasting a beautiful woodland area.
The garden at The Foyer on King Street will be open from 10am to 4pm both days, with children's activities on Saturday afternoon and a static display of birds of prey on Sunday.
Finally, remember to use the park and ride facility. Park your car in De Aston School's car park on Willingham Road and be taken to the town centre by bus.
