Joyful celebration of star
ONE of Britain’s best-loved performers is remembered in It’s Joyful Joyce, which takes to the stage at The Broadbent Theatre this Saturday, May 19.
A star of stage, screen and radio for 40 years, writer and entertainer Joyce Grenfell was a familiar face to many through her film work, most notably as Sgt Ruby Gates in the St Trinian’s Ealing comedies.
She is still fondly remembered today for the sparkling wit of her signature comic monologues and songs.
In this brand new celebration of Joyce Grenfell’s work, Rebecca Grace performs Joyce’s character sketches and songs, some sharply funny, some poignant, but all timeless and wonderful.
Tickets for this tribute to Joyce Grenfell from Airship Productions cost £8.50, with £7 concessions, and are available to book on line at www.broadbent.org or call the box office on 01673 885500.
The performance starts at 7.30pm.
