Joy of singing to the fore as silver Society celebrates

Market Rasen Choral Society continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a concert on April 27.

A wide range of compositions will be sung, showing the variety of its repertoire, as well as looking back at the Queen’s Jubilee year and forward to the centenary of the birth of Benjamin Britten.

Caistor Primary School will be singing three movements of a contemporary setting of the Benedicite, specifically composed for adult and children’s choirs.

In addition the programme will include music the choir has always enjoyed such as Choruses from the Opera and Mendelsohn’s ‘Hear my Prayer’, but most of all the choir wants to show the pleasure of singing and to create a sense of fun – a taste of the Last Night of the Proms.

The choir welcomes new members, there are no auditions, rehearsals on Tuesdays at Market Rasen Primary 7.30pm. Details: 07711 395237
