Historian Bill Brocklesby gave a detailed talk on the ‘History of Kingston upon Hull’ at the monthly meeting of Brigg Amateur Social Historians BASH, speaking on how the city developed from the 12th Century to the 20th Century.

The next talk will be at the Brigg Servicemen’s Club on March 5 and will be entitled ‘Asleep in the Deep’ an illustrated talk by local author Diane Brian on the rise and fall off the Bennett Steamship Company.

There will be no BASH Dance and wartime memorabilia evening to mark VE Day this year, as attendance at the event, popular for several years, has been down recently, due to other local organisations holding similar events.
