An exhibition of work by Jill Marschner will be on show at the Arts and Heritage Centre in Plough Hill, Caistor, until November 25.

Jill said: “The pictures in the exhibition are all composed of fabric and stitch.

“I start with a calico backing and build up a fairly random arrangement of fabrics to suggest the image.

“After tacking this fabric sandwich together, I ‘draw’ with my sewing machine to provide detail, texture and colour.”

She added: “Sometimes  the pictures seem to take on a life of their own and often the back is more interesting than the front.

“I have always enjoyed working with textiles and here are some of the results.”
