A SHOPPING extravaganza to raise money for research into blood cancers is
being held at Market Rasen Racecourse.

The Grimsby and District Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Committee is holding the annual event in the racecourse’s Brocklesby Suite on Wednesday,
October 17, from 6.30pm-9pm and on Thursday, October 18, from 10am-3pm.

There will be more than 50 stalls selling all kinds of things including clothing, gifts, food, jewellery and much more.

And this year’s event
will be even more special as the committee is celebrating 50 years of fundraising. All past and present committee members – who have helped to raise about £850,000 over the years – will be there on Wednesday evening.

One of the group’s members, Jo Green from Thoresway – mum of
celebrity chef Rachel Green – has been part of the committee for the entire 50 years it has been running.

On Wednesday, entry costs £10 and includes a glass of bubbly donated by InterVino and canapes from Steven Lock Fine Dining. On Thursday entry is £5 or free to those who attended the previous day.

Last year’s event raised an incredible £16,000 and this year organisers are hoping to raise even more.
