Get in tune for music and drama festival

Preparations for next year’s North Lincolnshire Music and Drama Festival are now well in hand.

It was first held in 1900 and celebrates the 93rd anniversary in 2013.

The music section will be held from March 4 to March 7, when the adjudicator will be Margaret J Smith, and drama will take place from March 11 to March 13, with Jill O’Hare as adjudicator.

Copies of the prospectus are now available free from Wallheads Gents Outfitters, Grandad’s Shed, Michelle’s Hairdressers in Brigg, Brigg Tourist Information Centre, Paul’s Music shop in Scunthorpe and Poole’s music shop in Grimsby or from committee members.

It is important to note that as the festival is earlier next year the closing date for entries is on Friday 9th of November.

The festival is always popular and offers performers a wide range of opportunities to show their talents from poetry and prose, bible reading, duologues choral speaking, songs from shows, school choirs and a range of musical instrumental solo and groups to name but a few of the different classes available.

There is also the opportunity for anyone who would like to support the festival to become a vice president for £20 which entitles 2 persons to attend all sessions or an Honorary Member for £15. which entitles 1 person to attend all sessions?
