Exhibition to show dramatic form of other worldliness

A display of photo-etchings is this month’s exhibition at Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre.

There will be a chance to meet the exhibiting artist, Max Marschner, at the venue on Saturday, January 5, from 11am.

Max’s work is a fusion of photography and the etching aquatint process.

The significant material is infra-red film which produces, through dramatically lit subjects, a sense of “other worldliness” - a good medium to depict overgrown landscapes and architectural relics.

The camera on a tripod also contributes an element of mystery and stillness, similar to many early Victorian photographs.

Max was lecturer in charge of printmaking at Bishop Grosseteste College Lincoln.

The exhibition itself runs from January 4 to January 27.
