Don’t miss new youth project making first assault on town centre this Friday

AN INFLATABLE assault course will be in Market Rasen on Friday to celebrate the launch of a new youth club.

Market Rasen Youth Project has been set up thanks to a £10,000 grant from Lincolnshire County Council – it will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings at De Aston School.

Market Rasen Mayor Steve Bunney said he wanted to make sure the town had a youth club and that regular activities – like assault courses and discos – were held for those people who did not want to join.

Mr Bunney added: “The purpose of the event is to advertise we have the £10,000 to develop youth facilities and we are hoping to run the youth club two nights a week, but also to provide a number of events as well throughout the year for those who cannot attend or do not attend the club nights.”

The project will also benefit from the involvement of Samantha Rea, who was instrumental in the running of the former Friday Night Project at the Arena Cafe for Market Rasen’s youngsters.

This project stopped running earlier this year due to a lack of funding at the time.

The assault course – as well as a barbecue – will be in the Market Place on Friday, July 13, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

It costs £1 to take part and under 16s are free.

Donations are welcome for Market Rasen’s Claudia’s Cause and HeadSmart.

Times for the youth club are yet to be confirmed, but will be printed in your Market Rasen Mail soon.
