BRIGG Lions are holding their second cider festival on the weekend of September 7 and 8.

This is the second year the Lions have held a cider festival in addition to their popular Spring Beer Festival.

The event will be staged at John Reid Transport in Atherton Way and Friday opening times are 7pm-11pm, while on the Saturday it will be 4pm-11pm.

The country’s best-known cider areas of Somerset and Herefordshire will be well represented, but Lincolnshire cider is on hand too in the form of Jollydale, both dry and sparkling, and Skidbroke.

And in a new initiative, commemorative glasses are being produced for the first time.
