Blues harmonica legend at The Hope

THIS Sunday (28) sees a return visit to the Hope Tavern at Holton le Moor of blues harp player and singer, John O'Leary, long considered by his peers to be one of the finest blues harmonica players in the UK.

Beginning in 1965 with the formation of Savoy Brown’s Blues Band, he has gone on to play with some prominent musicians and bands including New Orleans pianist ‘Champion’ Jack Dupree, Alexis Korner, Noel Redding, Donovan and the late great saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith, carving out a style of his own.

This appearance at the Tavern is part of the short Sugarcane Tour of the UK and will feature the progressive blues style of a quartet of some of the best musicians in the Blues “world”.

Starts 4pm – entrance 6.00
