Big names at this year's Americana Festival

THE AREA'S biggest and most exciting music festival gets underway again at Newark Showground over the weekend July 10-12.

The Americana Festival showcases everything that is best about American style music, but also about American lifestyles and traditions, with dozens of wonderful American cars and trucks.

There's a host of talent on the five sound stages across the showground with plenty of country music and rock 'n roll.

Amongst others Kevin Montgpmery and the Road Trippers, Rusti Steele and the Red Hot Wranglers and Billy Yates appear on Friday.

On Saturday, amongst many others there's the delectable American Danni Leigh, the multi talented James Intveld, who wowed the crowds last year and the 'Lord of Neo-Rockabilly' Levi Dexter, who will deliver a fantastic set.

On Sunday there's Lonnie's son Peter Donegan, who is ensuring his dad's tradition lives on, the great Rockabilly band Matchbox and topping the bill, the legendary Alvin Stardust - back on top form and performing all his greatest hits.

All this, plus the biggest variety of American automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, rv's, customs and hot rods outside of the USA.

Indoor Custom Bike Show. Forty auto/bike awards Car club displays. Numerous associated trade stands, side-shows, amusements, 50's style fun fair. Four bars and food vendors.

Children aged 15 and under admitted free if with a paying adult. On-site camping must be pre-booked if arriving on the Thursday
