Astronomy opportunities at Chambers Farm Wood

NIGHT owls are being invited to spend a night with the stars in Chambers Farm Wood.

The Forestry Commission has invited one of the UK's best known astronomers, Paul Money, from Horncastle, to take keen star gazers on a tour of the heavens and let them glimpse fabulous heavenly wonders through a powerful telescope.

The event takes place on Friday February 19, but you'll need to book to take part, on 01526 399943.

Stargazing events have become hugely popular in the 360 hectare (900 acre) wood near Wragby, and this year two more astro-nights are planned in the summer and autumn to track the changing seasons.

The event starts with an introductory talk at 7pm in the Chambers Farm Wood Centre, off the B1202 Bardney to Wragby road.

The cost is 3, which includes hot drinks. Bring binoculars if you have them. The event is suitable for children over 8 years old.
