Art is coming to Market Rasen

Market Rasen high street becomes an art gallery next month with more than 20 Lincolnshire artists exhibiting over 100 pieces of work.

The Plank 2013 festival; officially launches this Saturday at the Love, Love Me Do market.

Carol Parker is yarnbombing the town with knitted pieces from all over the world, while Jim Parry is starting a fascinating conversation about art and architecture with an installation called Transform.

Stunning pieces have also been commissioned by local emerging artists Seb Van B and Richard Chuck.

There will be free workshops too for all the community, run by local talent – making, doing, sewing, sketching, felting, 3D, music and more.

And the BIG Picture will start to take shape, with everyone who lives in Market Rasen invited to contribute a piece. The biggest news of all is that Mary Portas is finally going to visit Market Rasen.
