We had a marvellous January attendance of 190, On a cold, wet and windy January afternoon, speaker Rachel Petheram brought a ray of sunshine to the 190 people at the meeting of the Lincolnshire Group of the Hardy Plant Society in Welton’s William Farr School.
Rachel’s subject was The Cutting Garden and she recommended a large number of flowers she grows herself and included names a plenty, planting and growing tips, images of these flowers and her floristry work in such a delightful manner that she created a real buzz among her listeners.
There was undoubtedly a large number of her audience who went straight to a garden centre after the talk to buy packets of seeds and grow their own flowers for cutting.
Others were planning trips later in the year to Doddington Hall to view Rachel’s cutting garden which is based there.
The group’s next meeting will be on Saturday, February 22, when the speaker will be Dr John Page - Gardens of the South West.
The meeting will again be held in William Farr School, starting at 2pm.
New members and visitors are always welcome.
