A magnificent display of produce filled Barnetby Village Hall for the annual Horticultural Society Show.
It was the first show for the new chair Abigail Stothard, who took over the role when her father died last year.
“I have had some big shoes to fill in taking over from dad but entries have been good and quite a few new faces have exhibited this year.”
As always, it was the flowers and veg that caught the eye, with Society Vice Chairman Wayne Jackson providing cabbage for 1st prize and Walt Phillips continuing an impressive run of winning entries over 40 years by claiming 1sts with his carrots.
President Vic Bowness said: “It is good we have some young blood on our committee,it helps safeguard the show’s future.”
Judges included Bob Green, Keith Bowser, Dai Jackson and Barbara Green.
