Members of Nettleton and Moortown Women’s Institute braved the weather to celebrate their 95th birthday with a traditional garden party.

Despite the rain, everyone kept dry in the marquee at the event hosted by member Norma Moor.

And to tie in with the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation, Midge Thomas gave a short presentation about her encounters with royalty during her time as chairman of WI markets, which included audiences with both the Queen and the Queen Mother.

Members of the committee are pictured above with Midge, centre, ready to cut the strawberry and cream cake.
