This week we head back more than 50 years into the Rasen Mail archives to look at some of the public servants of the day.

Binbrook Parish Council was formed under the Local Government Act of 1894 and held its first meeting on December 4th of that year in the Temperance Hall.

An incredible 150 electors attended the inaugural meeting when, by a show of hands, ten Councillors were elected from a list of 18 candidates.

Pictured after their 1962 annual meeting are: front, from left - Mr E E Wakefield (retiring clerk), Mrs F Stark, Mr D R Webb, Mr Briggs, Mr F Urry and Mr S B Fletcher (clerk); back, from left - Mr R Mumby, Mr W Turner, Mr J Worfolk, Mr A Brown and Mr C Wilson.
