Christmas and charity combined at Caistor WI’s November meeting.

As a result of a harvest auction, cheques for £60 were presented to Ron Lyus, of Caistor Lions, and Ian Dawson, from Caistor First Responders.

For the regular part of the meeting, they welcomed Wendy Smith, who showed how to easily ice and decorate Christmas cakes of all sizes.

Wendy used a variety of cutters, ribbons and edible glitters to demonstrate some stunning creations.

The members were then able to decorate cup cakes and make decorated plaques from icing.

A beautifully iced Christmas cake made by Wendy was raffled and Jane Starling was the lucky winner. Jane also won the competition for a handmade Christmas tree decoration.

Second was Joan Wright, with Jan Sanderson and Margaret Roach in joint third.

Flower of the month was won by Judith Hewis, with Linda Mason second and Wendy Handford third.

The next meeting at Caistor Town Hall will be on January 7, as the December meeting is the Christmas meal.
