Market Rasen Flower Club has entered its golden year, as they mark their 50th anniversary.

And the start of the celebrations saw new president Sandra Rossington cutting a cake at the club’s AGM, to share with members after the business was completed

The new officers of the club were also installed, with Cecile Povey as Chairman and Sarah Green becoming Vice Chairman.

Presentations were made to the retiring President Jo Wilson and to Di Smith, who has retired after 19 years on the committee, 12 of them as treasurer.

In recognition of her dedication and commitment to the club she was presented with Honorary Life Membership.

Gina Waite was awarded the trophy for the most points gained at the monthly competitions and Rita Goulsbra received the Fred Frost Trophy.

A cheque from the club was also presented to David Seddon from the Poplars Care Home for the Dementia Friends Support Cafe.

Di Smith will be starting off the club’s new season of monthly meetings with a demonstration titled “Let’s Celebrate” on Monday March 17 at 7.30pm in the Festival Hall.

New members and guests will be very welcome.
