Tomorrow, Thursday, PC Stuart Roach will discover the success of his nomination for a lifetime achievement award, as detailed on page 15. Ahead of the award ceremony, this encoragement was sent by 'Peter@Caistor' in response to the story at www.marketrasenmail.co.uk.
PC Roach is one of the nicest and fairest policemen I have every dealt with, always willing to discuss anything and his jokes...
I remember being caught out when I first arrived in Caistor, 20 years ago, and when our son was in trouble or suspected of causing damage to the Town Hall. Roachie sorted it out and from what I gather, informed the Councillor in question to get new glasses.
We really need more men of his calibre in the Police Force these days. Shame to say, respect for the Police is going downhill, and I have several friends who serve. They agree that Policing is now political and that they can't wait for their pensions.
Roachie, it's been a pleasure knowing you, good luck and what ever the result, you're the last of the 'Best..'

Pete
