02/07/08 - There is never a PC about at night
EDITOR - It should not be down to the council to ban alcohol on the streets, it should be down to the police to deal with this problem with alcohol, because that is what they are paid for.
I am backing the town council for alcohol-free zones in Market Rasen. I think we need to be talking to our MP to help get the ball rolling as well.
The Inspector of Market Rasen Police says there has been a big drop in crime around this area. People who have been made victims of crime will see these figures as hard to believe and I do.
Everyone in this area knows there is never a police officer around at night-time.
He wants people to ring the police if we witness anything suspicious, but we have been doing so.
In respect of the crossroads debate, it becomes a racetrack for boy racers, and at night all the roads in Market Rasen became unsafe.
The crossroads need to be looked at to make them safer in general, because an accident will happen soon if boy racers are out all night going mad.
