NEXT WEEK the second Children's Film Festival will appeal to adults and children alike, with screenings of the most famous silent comedy and one of the most beautiful animated films ever made.
Louth Film Club, in association with the Playhouse Cinema, is giving local youngsters the chance to see some great films outside the usual Hollywood fare and to see them in the best environment; on a big screen, in a cinema, as part of an audience.

As well as morning and afternoon performances for school parties there will also be the following public shows, for children and adults, at 7.30pm:

l Monday, June 16: Azur & Asmar - The Princes’ Quest, an Arabian Nights style story in a dazzling new film by French animator Michel Ocelot. English-voiced version.

l Tuesday, June 17: The General, plus The Scarecrow. Buster Keaton, the master of silent comedy, in his greatest feature film, about the kidnapping of a steam engine during the American Civil War.

l Wednesday, June 18: A Little Princess. A brilliant adaptation of the Frances Hodgson Burnett story directed by Alfonso Cuarón, who made Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
