Jazz - that's nice!
Wednesday, noon: JAZZ is back at the Trinity Arts Centre by popular demand.
On Saturday, May 10 the East Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra, joined by the legendary performer Alan Barnes, will put on a show not to be missed!
As recipients of two Outstanding Services to Jazz Awards Education Awards, EMYJO continue to work with some of the country's finest professional jazz musicians and on this occasion are joined by Alan Barnes.
Alan Barnes has won 18 separate British Jazz Awards and was voted Best Instrumentalist at the BBC Jazz Awards in 2001 and 2006. Alan has also appeared as a session musician on albums by Bjork, Bryan Ferry, Clare Teal, Jamie Cullum and Westlife, on film and television soundtracks, jingles and as part of the Laurie Holloway orchestra on Strictly Come Dancing and the Parkinson Show.
Artistic Director Chris Wright said "It's very exciting to have a performer of Alan Barnes calibre at the centre; we hope to bring more jazz to our programme over the coming year. The EMYJO are collectively a huge talent and I'm pleased to welcome them back'
