Art exhibition at Tathwell

A HUGELY popular art exhibition and sale of paintings based in a country church marks its 20th aanniversary this weekend.
The Tathwell Art Exhibition in St Vedas Church, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 24 to 26, raises funds for the building’s upkeep and in addition to scores of paintings, ceramics and turned wood artefacts, there is a massive sale of second hand books and old postcards.


The walss are covered to capacity with watercolours, pastels, oils, acrylics, graphite, gauace and pen and ink works and the refreshments alone are worth driving out to Tathwell for.


On Saturday there is also corn dolly making with Ruth Walker, a Sunday guided village walk with Jean Howard at 10.30am and music also entertainment from Patrick Purves in the afternoon, on Northumbrian bagpipes, melodean, concertina and tin whistlem and a spinning demonstration on Monday with Claire Weaver.


Open daily 10am to 6pm, admission £1.
