Town Council Election

CAISTOR residents have chosen their new representatives on the Town Council to replace those three members who resigned.

The election, held on Thursday, March 11, was a close run event with just 106 votes between fourth and first placed candidates, 20 votes between first and second.

Returning officer Graham Spicksley announced that Alan David Caine with 467 votes, Michael John Stopper with 444 votes and Richard Nicholas Paul Sandham with 434 votes were elected onto the Town Council. Stewart William Davey achieved 361 votes.

No papers were spoiled or invalid. The turnout was 31.85 per cent from an electorate of 2,163 eligible voters.
