River Ancholme will drop by more than half

WATER levels in the River Ancholme are to be lowered for bank maintenance and survey purposes through to March.

The Environment Agency says the levels at Brigg will be dropped on Wednesday (11), and again on November 27. The lowest level is planned at 0.40 metres from 30 November until 18 December.

The present level is set at 1.20 metres, which will be restored from March 26.

These levels do not take account of heavy rainfall or flood conditions when the river level rises naturally.
