AN URGENT appeal for a new accompanist has been made by the Wold Singers.

James Hall took over following the departure of Ann Powell, but conductor Carole Mundy has confirmed he will be leaving the group in September to go to college.

She said: “We need someone who can attend rehearsals on a Monday evening between 7pm and 9pm.

“The need of a good accompanist is very important to us; we hope someone will come forward.”

“We are also looking for new members in all sections. If anyone is interested they can ring me on 01652 654428, or email carolemundy@hotmail.co.uk.”

The popular ladies choir return to their roots in the Wolds for a concert with a ‘spring flavour’ at Worlaby Church on March 23.

Carole added: “We have also been asked to help out with a concert to do with the Olympics, which is being run by Sue Hollingworth on the weekend of July 14-15.”

The choir’s two popular dates for concerts at the Angel Suite in Brigg have still to be finalised, the traditional summer concert in July and the Christmas concert.
