VIDEO: Thousands turn out for a fireworks fiesta

Thousands of people turned out to watch firework displays in Market Rasen and Caistor this week.

Rasen on Monday night to see the displays light up the sky and fell the heat of the bonfire.

Market Rasen’s display, held opposite the racecourse, was again organised by Market Rasen Round Table, while Caistor Lions were again running the night held at South Street Park.

The money raised from both displays will go to local good causes and community projects.

In Caistor the best dressed guy competition, judged by the town’s Mayor, John Burns-Salmond, was won by Kristian Hughes.

In South Street Park a no-bangs children’s firework display also preceded the lighting of the bonfire, topped by an Olympic cauldron.

Caistor and District Lions president Reg Hunt said: “Thanks to everyone involved in the setting up of the park, the preparation before the event, members of the public for their help on the night, the police, the fire brigade, the 1st responders, the generous public, Neon Sky Fireworks, Caistor Town Council, Yarborough Academy. It was a tremendous evening.”
