A LINCOLN-based film company brought Doctor Who to Wragby on Sunday, August 19.

While the town was quiet following a torrential downpour and high humidity, the Doctor’s Tardis landed at the Wragby Maze.

Doctor Who, played by Spencer Kennedy, and his assistant Alice, played by Bryony Roberts, began the next part of their adventure The Mystery of Rorrim, always trying to get one step ahead of the Doctor’s arch-enemy, The Master – played by Ben Poole.

The maze proved an ideal spot for the plot, with the turf maze becoming a ‘vortex’.

Filming began after the maze closed, and, for those familiar with the area, the cafe was transformed into the changing rooms.

The film is produced by Crow’s Eye Productions, and directed by Nick Loven.

There were roughly 25 crew members and actors in attendance and filming lasted until after 9pm, when the light began to fail and it was time for Doctor Who to move on.

The film can be found online on YouTube by searching for Crow’s Eye Productions, and it is exciting to see parts that have been filmed at The Cherry Tree at Sudbrook – the owner Charles Massey also owns the Tardis, the beach in Lincolnshire, and now Wragby Maze.

Ted Dodds, owner of the Wragby Maze and Conifer Centre was delighted to be able to support the team, allowing them to use the facilities.

He said it was exciting to watch the filming, standing on the balcony in the centre of the maze.

Sadly, as darkness descended, the Tardis vanished, moving on to pastures new for more adventures.
