VETERANS, family and friends gathered in Ludford for the annual 101 Squadron Association reunion.

After a service at the village church, led by Chaplain in Chief of the RAF, the Ven Air Vice Marshal Ray Pentland, wreaths were laid at the 101 Squadron memorial.

Afternoon tea was provided by members of the WI in the village hall for the visitors as they waited for a flypast by the BBMF Lancaster.

Unfortunately, bad weather between Ludford and Bournemouth, where the Lancaster had been that morning, prevented it from arriving.

However, the Lancaster crew did manage to make two passes over the 101 Sqn memorial in Ludford the next day on their way to Humberside Airport.
