Magical wish granted for Market Rasen girl
Christmas is a magical time for children and for one Market Rasen girl in particular this festive season was extra special.
Kymberley Tilbury was granted a three-day trip to Disneyland Paris by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
And the nine-year-old, who has multiple complex life-limiting conditions, was treated like a princess from the moment the chauffeur arrived at her house.
“The whole experience was phenomenal,” said Lorna Booth, who accompanied Kymberley on the trip.
“The whole trip was all geared to her.
“The Disney Wish programme gave priority anywhere in the park and whenever a Disney crew member saw her, they would come over and talk to us all.
“They even came out of the parade and spoke to her - it was incredible.”
Kymberley’s adventure began with an executive car to take her to London for an overnight stay - then it was off to Paris the next day.
The Sunday night was spent at the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show.
“There was a lady juggler who Kymberley really enjoyed watching - you could hear Kymberley screaming with laughter and delight at her above the other children,” said Lorna.
The next three days were spent in the Disneyland Park.
“It really was as a magical wish come true for Kymberley, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Disney Crew” added Lorna.
And the timing of the trip couldn’t have been better.
Kymberley has recently undergone two lots of surgery and faces more scheduled operations next year.
But for the moment the celebrations continue - as Kymberley will be 10 years old on Sunday, January 6.
Since the Make-A-Wish Foundation was established in the UK in 1986, they have granted more than 8,300 wishes.
