Fresh funding sees new look youth club leap into action

editorial image

CHILDREN squealed with excitement as they battled their way through a giant inflatable assault course in Market Rasen - before tucking in to a free barbecue.

The event was held to celebrate the launch of Market Rasen Youth Project - a club for 11 to 16 year olds on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at De Aston School.

The youth project will provide a safe place for young people to have fun, play table tennis, pool, Wii, arts and crafts and much more.

The members of the Youth Project will be encouraged to take an active part in the running of the group and choosing activities.

Plus, they will be given advice and guidance where needed along with personal development sessions such as a self esteem programme.

Market Rasen Youth Project - which was set up thanks to a £10,000 grant from Lincolnshire County Council – will run during
term time but events will also be held during the school holidays.

The Youth Project would like to thank Market Rasen Town Council for the use of the Market Place and Jayne from The Chase for providing the barbecue at the launch.

Market Rasen Youth Project will start up
properly in September - you do not have to be a pupil
at De Aston school to
attend.

Any youth workers and volunteers that would like to help are also welcome to attend.
