Getting to grips with chopsticks to celebrate Chinese New Year

CHILDREN at Caistor’s Whitegate House Kindergarten celebrated the Chinese New Year with lots of fun and many new experiences.

This year is the Year of the Dragon, so it was particularly fitting for dragon dancing to be on the agenda.

Yoga, tai chi and eating noodles with chopsticks all featured during the day.

There was also the opportunity to sample fortune cookies and Chinese confectionary.

Kindergarten proprietor Angela Lawrence said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience a different culture.

“There has been plenty of fun and learning as the children experience exotic tastes and scents.”
