Coffee morning for mental health

A FREE coffee morning to promote World Mental Health Day is being held at Market Rasen Learning Centre on Wednesday, October 10 from 9.30am to 11am.

The event, organised by CG Partnership, will be an opportunity for people to get information on a variety of mental disorders and support groups.

Details of a new project - the Mental Illness Prevention Fund - will also be available. This fund is aimed at people who are recovering from mental illness and their carers, and will look to provide personal and social support.

Project manager Helen Walsh said: “Mental Illness can affect one in four people over a lifetime and on average one in 20 people report having an episode of depression in the previous year. We hope that the day can help reduce the stigma attached to mental illness.”
