Obituary: Ivy Stevenitt Ellmore

The funeral service for Ivy Stevenitt Ellmore took place at Great Grimsby Crematorium.

The Rev Canon Ian Robinson officiated at the service and funeral arrangements were by J W Varlow and Son of Caistor.

Ivy died in Nettleton Manor Nursing Home.

Ivy was born in Hessle, Yorkshire, in December 1916, the daughter of Bert and Maud Jordan.

The family moved to Nettleton in the early 1930s.

Here she met Reg Ellmore and they married on October 29, 1937 at Nettleton Church and the couple moved to Caistor, where they had a poultry farm.

Ivy looked after their two children and the poultry farm, while Reg worked as a driver for Brown’s Buses for many years.

Both Ivy and Reg played tennis in their younger years and later played golf at Market Rasen; both were Captains there.

Ivy loved travelling, visiting many places in the British Isles and overseas.

She was very much a family person and took great delight in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Immediate mourners at the service were: Michael Ellmore (son); Joan and Brian Woodcock (daughter and son-in-law); Sonya and David Cambell (granddaughter and husband); Vicki Ellmore and Carl Irlam (granddaughter and partner); Barry Jordan (nephew); Chris and Celia Ellmore (nephew and wife); Patricia Patchett (niece); Carol Jessop (great niece); Valerie Ellmore.
