Binbrook Plough Blessing 1968

Binbrook Plough Blessing 1968

The ancient ceremony of blessing the plough at the start of another farming year was observed at Binbrook back in January 1968.

The Rev C H Evison, Rector of Binbrook, can be seen between the plough shafts.

The ceremony is not so common these days, but the tradition will live on at East Barkwith, when a Plough Sunday Service will be held at Stamp’s Farm this Sunday at 3pm.
