New Methodist Minister for Brigg

BRIGG has a new Methodist Minister in Rev Enid Knowles who will be joining the church and local circuit in August.

The welcome service will be at the Brigg Church on Friday August 28 at 7.30pm. She and husband David will live at the Brigg Manse and will be moving to the town from the Bolton and Rochdale Circuit.

At the same service Deacon Carys Woodley will be welcomed to the circuit. She and her husband Iain will be living in Hibaldstow.

Brigg has been without a resident minister since last October when previous incumbent Janet Magee was found guilty after a week-long trial of perverting the course of justice. She had been suspended for since the previous September after being charged.

* The Wednesday Group hold its AGM at the Methodist Church today, Wednesday and will conclude their run of early Summer meetings with a barbeque next Wednesday, July 1.

* A festival of wedding dresses, flower and photographs is being held in St Mary’s Church Wrawby, used also as a joint church between Anglicans and Methodist, on Saturday July 4 from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday July 5 from noon to 4pm.

* Methodists have been invited to join with the St John’s congregation on a trip to Whitby on Tuesday July 21.
