Jessica's Big Ben card strikes a cord
VALE of Ancholme Technology and Music College Year 7 student Jessica Lee received a surprise visit from Brigg and Goole MP Ian Cawsey.
He called on her to congratulate Jessica for designing the best Christmas card from his constituency.
Every MP has challenged constituents to design a festive card for them to send out this Christmas and in every case it had to depict Big Ben which is 150 years old this year.
The clock keeper judged all the entries from each constituency with Jessica beating all the other entries from Mr Cawsey's Brigg and Goole area.
Jessica received a certificate and 150 commemorative badges of the famous London landmark. Her card design along with all the other winners nationwide is on display in the Houses of Parliament and each one wil be sent out in the appropriate constituency at Christmas.
Jessica was delighted to receive the surprise visit and news of her victory.
"I designed a card showing both Santa Claus and a picture of Big Ben. It is a big surprise to find out I have won," she said.
She is pictured with MP Ian Cawsey and Vale Headteacher Gail Young.
