Caistor councillor 'cleared' of conduct allegation

A CAISTOR Town councillor has been cleared of any failure to follow the councillors' Code of Conduct.

Coun Mike Stockwood had been reported to the West Lindsey Standards Board with allegations he had failed to declare a personal and prejudicial interest in relation to the re-location of a bus stop and a failure to treat others with respect by making discourteous remarks.

The Standards Committee said Coun Stockwood 'did not fail to comply with any paragraph of the Code of Conduct' and that there 'was no evidence to support the allegation he did not treat others with respect' whilst carrying out his duties as a councillor.
