Caistor couple injured in accident
TWO people from Caistor have been injured - one seriously - in an accident near Burgh on Bain.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the road traffic collision which involved two vehicles at around 9.15am on Tuesday 23 February at the junction of the A157 with the B1225 near Burgh on Bain.
The two vehicles involved were a blue Isuzu Trooper and a silver Vauxhall Astra.
The male driver and female passenger of the Astra were trapped in the vehicle and required cutting from the wreckage. Both casualties are believed to be from the Caistor area and aged in their sixties. They have not been named.
The woman was airlifted to Lincoln County Hospital with serious chest and internal injuries. The driver was taken by ambulance to LCH with shock injuries. The driver of the Isuzu is not believed to have sustained any injuries requiring hospital treatment.
The road was closed to allow for collision investigation and clearance of the scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or anyone travelling in the area who saw either vehicle prior to the collision around 9.15am this morning.
