Brownies got a helping hand with their Booklover Badge from cultural service advisor Mel Fenwick at Market Rasen Library

THERE is nothing better than a good book, as local brownies have been discovering.

Members of the 2nd Middle Rasen Brownies and 2nd Market Rasen Brownies paid a visit to Market Rasen Library as part of their booklover badge work.

Librarian Mel Fenwick visited the groups to help them find out more about what the library has to offer ahead of their visit and was on hand to help them use the facilities when at the library.

As well as general lending, the brownies learned about what was available in the reference section and through the public access computers.

For the badge, the brownies have had to show they know how to care for books, as well as reading a total of six books by different authors.

There has also been a craft element, which has seen them make a bookmark and design a poster to show all the things the local library has to offer

The brownies is open to anyone aged seven to ten years of age and meets in term times.
