Family get together for cancer charity race

BETTY Welton from Caistor was the eldest of four generations running together in the Cleethorpes Race for Life.
Alongside daughters Vanda Miller and Angela Mayne, grandaughter Tracy Turnell and great grandaughter Danielle Turnell, she helped raise more then £500 for Cancer Research UK.

Angela was racing for the fourth year running and having had cancer herself, she said having the family race with her made it all the more special this year. Betty has watched Angela in Race for Life for the last three years and has always said she would love to do it herself but didnt think she could.

“So this year we decided to have a family effort,” said Angela.

Great grandaughter Danielle who is partially sighted and Tracy have done the race twice before and said it was brilliant being able to have four generations racing together.
