COUNCILLORS at Caistor are to seek a meeting with the Co-op's estates department to try and persuade them to carry out improvements to the external appearance of the town store.
Coun Mike Stockwood raised the matter at the September meeting of the town council.
“The Co-op is looking pretty abysmal at the moment,” he said, adding that a meeting with the Co-op might be able to persuade them to repaint the building.
Coun Marcus Plume said there were also a lot of cigarette ends and chewing gum on the pavement outside the shop and he had seen staff smoking outside and dropping cigarette ends onto the pavement.
The council is also to approach the NatWest to ask them to remove vegetation that is growing in the gutters above the Market Place branch.
