CAISTOR will turn back the clock to the 1940s on Sunday for the annual fun feast that is the Street Party
The free community festival and street party starts on Sunday, July 12 at 3pm in Caistor Market Place where a Winston Churchill-a-like will be helped by children from the Rainbow PreSchool and Whitegate House Kindergarten in officially getting things
underway.
Compere for the event will be television personality Alan Hardwick.
Music from The Kingsway Printers Cleethorpes Band, Kings of Swing – The original 40s Disc Jockey, The Fanfare Big Band,
Caistor Yarborough School Choir, Caistor Primary School and Yourselves in a Traditional Sing A Long.
Dancing from The Grasby Jivers and JJ's East Coast Swing Dance Society. The Earthbound Misfits unique brand of street entertainment, the Lincolnshire Military Preservation Society, the Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue preserved fire engine, the Lincolnshire Army Cadets display, the Lincolnshire Air Cadets display, traditional party games – plenty of prizes, adult period dress competition - even more prizes, childrens fancy dress, charity stalls.
There will be loads to eat and drink - rationing permitting - and the thrills and spills of the traditional 40s Soapbox Derby Challenge plus much, much more including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Flypast.
