Caistor Mayor, Coun Steve Webster, has warned councillors that their behaviour in public reflects on the council as a whole.
"You should be looked upon as exemplary citizens and we should keep to those standards," he told them last week.
The remarks are believed to have been triggered by a letter sent to the council by an 'upset' woman after a councillor is alleged to have 'verbally abused' her 13 year old son, leaving the boy with special needs 'really upset' by the incident.
