13/08/08 - Rain fails to dampen spirits at Whitegate

WHEN Whitegate Kindergarten held its annual open day, rain stopped play and denied the children the chance to show off their maypole dancing.
Despite the inclement weather, many visitors attended to see the facilities on offer. Parents met and mixed and children demonstrated some of the activities and projects they have been following this year, except for their dance rehearsals.

But kindergarten owner Angela Lawrence said: "A good time was had by all as they took part in various activities including face painting, raffle, tombola, cake and toy stall sale, and guess the weight of the cake."
