HAVING seen through his main ambition of pioneering a new school for the town 18 months ago, Brigg County Primary School head Steve Pearce is to retire in July.
He will be succeeded by his deputy Beverley Gowers, who has been at the school for ten years and she has no doubt about the challenge ahead.

"We have been awarded a status as good under Mr Pearce and my challenge is to move on and improve the school even further."

An appointment to succeed Mrs Gowers as Deputy will be made shortly.

Mr Pearce moved the school to Atherton Way from the Glebe Road site. He had worked strenuously to get a new school for the town for over ten years.

Mr Pearce came to Brigg from Cumbria in 1984 and has seen many changes in the educational world in that time. Married to Sue, Mr Pearce is an enthusiastic member of Brigg Rotary Club and a regular supporter of Manchester United attending most home games.

RIGHT: All the best says retiring Head of Brigg County Primary School Steve Pearce to his Deputy Beverley Gowers as the announcement was made that she is to succeed him as Head from September.
