BRIGG Fiddle Festival celebrates being ten years old this weekend, and some big names are coming to town to join in the festivities.
Bigger and better than, the festival will be staged over four days from today, Wednesday through to Saturday, May 17.

There will be a range of workshops, street entertainment, busking competitions and fringe activities.

Carol Dawson from th
e organisers Wooton Fiddle Club said both the Friday and Saturday evening concerts were now sold out but some seats were still available for the concert by internationally renowned classical violinist Tasmin Little on Thursday night and the Saturday afternoon concert.

The launch tonight will be at the Vale of Ancholme Music and Technology College with a 'Young Person’s Ceilidh and Concert.'

The busking competition takes place on Saturday with competitors playing on Wrawby Street. It costs £3 to enter and there is a prize of £70 for the winner and £30 for second placed. The competition will be judged by Ian Cawsey MP and town mayor Mike Doherty.

"This is an amazing opportunity to be part of our amazing festival and maybe earn a few bob"said Carol.
