A NEW initiative is being launched by North Lincolnshire Council to encourage more schoolchildren to eat school meals.
The authority is the first in the country to sign up to ‘Pukka Stuff’ that rewards children for eating school meals.

By buying various meal deals for just £1.90, they receive points that they can collect and turn into rewards by logging onto www.pukkastuff.co.uk.

The rewards include free mobile phone texts, music offers, free photos, discounts on great days out, sports vouchers, half-price swims at local leisure centres and many more.

The council has involved school children in developing the initiative and asked them what rewards they would like. Pupils also came up with the name ‘Pukka Stuff’, which reflects chef Jamie Oliver’s involvement in promoting school meals.

‘Pukka stuff’ is also available to those children who have free school meals. It is currently only available to secondary schools, but will be extended to primary schools.
